DAY 14

                    Long-Distance Relationships

Too many of us are not living our dreams because we are
                 living our fears.

                                                            — Les Brown

If you are like me, you want to live the life you were destined to
live. Since fear and its family are here to stay, we need to learn how
to dance with the good fear and release the bad fear. It’s challeng-
ing to do this with any relationship, but how does this play out in
long-distance relationships? Those of you who are in the military or
armed forces know how uncomfortable this can be. The COVID-19

pandemic also created unwanted distance between friends and work
colleagues, and many of us felt isolated and cut off from our usual
              social interactions.
Long-distance relationships come with the strain of lonely nights
and difficult transitions. You need to creatively come up with a formula
for success in order to build intimacy in spite of the distance. Fortu-
nately, with technology, it’s easier than ever to have a Zoom date. This

connectedness can help alleviate the feelings of isolation.
Even if you and your significant other are temporarily living in
distant states, you can schedule time together and plan vacations with
activities you both enjoy. Send a small gift to show your appreciation or
send a card for no special reason. It’s not easy to be in a long-distance
