V. Provision and Matrix

A. Library

The Potia Campus Library Services is under the Office of the Vice President for Academic affairs
and Campus Director. This gives emphasis to the role that library plays in instruction. This service
office is headed by a Chairperson of library services who performs leadership, managerial and
administrative functions geared towards the attainment of university’s vision, mission, goals and
objectives.

The head librarian is a graduate of Bachelor of Arts major in Library Science major in Library
Science and a holder of Masters in library and Information Science (MLIS). As a licensed librarian,
she has been practicing her profession for 15 years. She empowers herself through attendance to
and participation in relevant trainings/conferences/for/workshops related to library and
information management.

A Library manual covers the internal administration and operational procedures of the library. It
is a source of information, a constitution which lists all departments, sections and their functions,
processes and policies within the library.

The Potia Campus library is manned by a licensed librarian and 2 ancillary staff. The library is
managed by professionally qualified and competent librarian. Each member has clearly defined,
unambiguous job description that facilitates and gels with the VMGO of IFSU. The Table presents
the profile of Potia Campus Library.
