VI. Participation of Significant Number of Administration/Staff/
Students/Community in Major Projects/Activities
1. Faculty Involvement in All Activities Pertinent to Curriculum and
Instruction
College activities related to curriculum and instruction are a joint effort by
various personnel of the College such as: the Dean, program chairperson, faculty
and university officials. These activities are as follows:
a. On Curriculum revision: The active participation of everybody is needed:
the Dean, Program Chairperson and faculty make the necessary
suggestions or inputs for the enhancement of the curriculum
b. Enrichment/updating of course syllabi: The faculty regularly update their
course syllabi. They are always encouraged to attend seminars, trainings
and use whatever they learned in updating their syllabi. Some faculty
members also attended the Outcomes-Based Quality Assurance Training
Workshop on June 2-3, 2015 to be updated in making an OBEdized
syllabus. A re-echo seminar and workshop was conducted to the faculty
and staff of the Department of Computer Science on August 28, 2015.
c. Recruitment, admission of students: The College assigns enrolment
officers by schedule. Other signatories are the dean/program chairperson
and the registrar.
d. Faculty participation in socio-cultural activities, sports and other social
gatherings at the college and university. The university has committees
that are responsible for the various activities. Each faculty has an
assignment to take charge for a certain activity.
e. The faculty members are given designations as advisers/coordinators at
the beginning of the school year so they can plan with the students, guide
them and supervise the implementation of the extra and co-curricular
activities.
f. The college has coordinators for research, extension, training and linkage,
income generating project and library
g. During the AACCUP and RQAT evaluations, they are
chairpersons/members of the task force. Sometimes they are tapped as
resource person, consultants, advisers, panelists to students conducting
research.
h. The faculty development plan is done collegially during a faculty meeting.
