The Applied Informatics Study Programme has been designed to meet the in-
creasing demand for various profiles in the field of information and communications
technology. It is aligned with the needs of IT companies which are looking to em-
ploy graduates who will, in addition to theoretical knowledge, have the necessary
skills needed to start working on projects straight after getting their degree.
In order to achieve that goal the study programme incorporates, on the one hand,
the subjects which provide students with comprehensive basic general knowledge
in information communications technologies and on the other hand, subjects which
enable students to further specialize and deepen the knowledge in specific areas
such as programming, use and development of web technologies, database man-
agement, business applications development, electronic businesses etc.

The students can apply and improve the knowledge they have acquired in
the Applied Informatics Programme through work placements in the sec-
ond and third year. A work placement lasts at least two weeks and takes
place in an IT company of students’ own choice or in one of the IT compa-
nies with which the school has signed a work placement agreement.

The advantage and the attraction of the Applied Informatics Pro-
gramme is in the fact that these are professional studies lasting 3 years
which enable students to acquire practical knowledge in a relatively
short period, and soon find employment in an IT company which lacks
this type of professionals. Gaining a degree in this program opens up
the following IT careers possibilities for students:
        •  programmer (C++, Java, Python…)
        • web programmer
        • user interface designer (UI/UX designer)
        • WordPress programmer
        • database administrator
        • database designer
        • computer network administrator
        • IT security analyst
        • IT system security designer
        • Information system analyst/designer
