and sent four times a year. This was met with enthusiastic appreciation. Members were still
sporadically not receiving magazines/journals in the region.
• AMT Presenters: Dr. Naomi Melvin, Cherry DaCosta-Carter, MT (AMT) and Lisa Bromley, RMA
(AMT). All sessions were well attended. The attendees were enthusiastic and asked for more
information. Presenters said they would be happy to attend future BGMs.
• AMT Offerings: AMT did sponsor a table/booth and coffee break. There were members who
sought information on membership and recertification. The coffee break was greatly
appreciated.

Location of Meeting: Go to Meeting Platform (Khalil Lucky, Organizer)
Countries represented: Bahamas, Curacao, Grenada, Guyana, St. Kitts/Nevis, St. Lucia, Trinidad and
Tobago, and USA.
Purpose of this “Go to Meeting” was to discuss cancelling scheduled RCM and to reschedule using an
alternate electronic platform.
Issues discussed:
• Regional Council Meeting (RCM) scheduled for 30 - 31 May 2020.
o Cancelled due to COVID-19.
o Keep current RCM meeting dates but use “Go to Meeting” platform.
o Meetings will be two-hour sessions over two days with two-hour breaks.
o Committees will meet prior to meeting. All reports will be presented at the RCM.
o All Branch and Territorial reports will be submitted two weeks before RCM.
• RCM Committees will use the “Go to Meeting” platform.
o Committees will start meeting on 1 May 2020 to compile reports for RCM.
• CASMET to send message to laboratory professionals to take the pandemic seriously.
• Bahamas Association of Medical Technologists (BAMT) to develop Public Service Announcement
(PSA) to thank MT/MLT and RPT professionals in the region for their work during the pandemic.
• Currently St. Kitts/Nevis has private laboratory testing for COVID-19.
