4. What do One Machine represent?
We represent those who like their metal heavy, but also
want to be able to not only thrash along, but sing along
as well. I am a fan of big 1980’s style Choruses, the kind
where you get that hook into your head and sing along
from Priest, Maiden and the like. That is something we
have always made sure of with One Machine, and
also that the songwriting is as strong as can be,
and representative of everyone in the band as well.
Our lyrics are reflective of the state of humanity
at the time we are writing the music, with The Final
Cull representing what we felt was a direction the
powers that be are headed in, which will see
humanity really tae a step down in the pecking
order, to be replaced by the “perfect human”, the
artificial intelligence based version. We have carried this
concept over to the E.P. with a bit of fantasy based mate-
rial in there, and some covers that we felt hit the mark on
the message we’ve been trying to get across to people
about being wary of being misled by these events. Keep
your head.
5. What has been your favorite recording
experience out of the history of the bands
you have been in and why?
I’ve been very lucky in a lot of respects, in that we
had access to some of the best recording studios in
the Bay Area that we did at the time, and I’ve always
cherished these memories. In 1996 with Vicious
Rumors, we Recorded that album at the Record Plant
