                     Israel-Loving Koreans

Hardly anything about this event falls into a routine slot. It may seem like
Korean television broadcasting, but it happened today, here in Haifa, at the
end of a weeklong visit in the holy land. An organization of Israel-loving
South Koreans, five hundred people who came to witness the wonder up
close, and brought a bit of (their) homey tradition with them. And this is
already a plot twist – why would the Christian Koreans visit the children
of ILAN NPO of all, which as you may recall takes care of the physically
disabled? “It all started with a visit three weeks ago in Korea, where I
inaugurated the opening of ILAN children’s painting exhibition.” The
initial cooperation exposed the NPO’s chairman to an organization of
Israel-loving Koreans, a worldwide coalition that recognizes the
importance of Jerusalem and pray for peace in the capital. (Those) who
met this Korean group speak of an almost bizarre connection to Israel.
Yes, the connection [lit. familiarity] isn’t based on language studies, nor
politics; the connection to Israel and Jerusalem stems from (religious)
devotion and belief in the Bible. Still, it’s pretty refreshing that there are
(those) who love, not to say are crazy about Israel in the world, whatever
the reasons may be.
