Israeli Spirulina
Being a farmer in Israel today isn’t easy, because there isn’t a lot of money in it. In Bet She’an
(they) understand that they have to do something in order to make their agriculture more modern.
Up until today (they) breed fish in Bet She’an, but in recent years (they) build a spirulina farm
there, the biggest spirulina farm in Europe. Spirulina is a very healthy algae, a super-food, which is
worth a lot of money and you can find it in many restaurants in Israel. Growing the spirulina takes a
long time, but in the meantime farmers are very happy.
