                                  Everybody Wants to be Happy

In a few minutes the show will begin. Neil has already performed dozens

of times in front of hundreds of boys and girls, but this show will be
unique. Still, it’s not every day that he gets to perform for kids from

countries to which he isn’t even permitted to enter. This is an initiative by

the Israeli Hasha’a Theater for children and youth. This initiative began
when Moti Halimi, the theater director, decided he wants to bring the

world of theater closer to children of the Arab sector in Israel. The play

The Ugly Duckling was translated into Arabic and Neil, Beit Zvi graduate
who speaks the language, was called to serve and started performing in

kindergartens and culture centers around Israel. Last December they

decided to take the project one step forward. The Ugly Duckling flew to
Thessaloniki, Greece for a six shows in seven days marathon in

community centers and refugee camps in the country. These people who
come from Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, it wasn’t easy for all of them to

process the idea that (the one) performing for them, (the one) who

volunteered to make them happy, is actually an Israeli, but at the end they
            found common grounds.
