up before the hanging. Meir commanded her to marry and said to
her, "If you merit sons, call one of them by my name."
And in truth, on April 22nd at 4:00 in the morning, Rachel stood on
the porch and looked at the prison and suddenly heard a powerful
explosion. Moshe and Meir and put a grenade close to their hearts
and were killed on the spot.
After a long period of mourning, Rachel got married to one of the
commanders of the Hagana and bore him children. One of them she
called Meir. In her heart she guarded two great loves – one to the
man whom she married and the second to Meir Feinstein who said to
her at their last meeting: "The day will come when you will be proud
of me."
