Asher Zvi Ginsberg was born in Ukraine and immigrated to Israel. He

is also an important person with great ideas, but he did not like respect

and therefore called himself "one of the people" [Ehad Ha'am]. He said

that the state is composed of little and simple people, and each person is

a whole world in itself. Ehad Ha'am claimed the Jews' state should be

an exemplar to all nations in the world. An open place for all the

people, Jews and non-Jews, who want to learn how to become good and

wise people. For Ehad Ha'am, the Jews' state is a school for culture and

spiritual life.
