An Israeli Exit

Most of you probably never heard its name before, not even of its doings,
but the Israeli Frutarom company has a part in nearly every product we eat

or drink. Today it’s responsible for the second biggest ‘exit’ in the history

of Israeli economy, seven billion and a hundred million dollars. You’ll be
able to find the flavor and scent extracts the company markets in almost

every other product. Over seventy thousand products, more than a hundred

and fifty countries worldwide. Frutarom, believe it or not, was established
way back in nineteen thirty three by none other than the first Israeli

President, Professor Chaim Weizmann. Frutarom goes straight into second
place in the ranking of Israeli exits. The company promises that the

manufacturing and development center in Israel won’t be harmed, by the

way more than five thousand employees work there, among others in the
factory in Haifa. No layoffs are expected there, at least for the next three

years. This is the promise, but with it come a ‘pinch’ that like quite a few

companies, Frutarom, an Israeli success, will now also be a part of an
American corporation.
