Berry Sakharof

Berry Sakharof (born July 7th 1957) is an Israeli singer, rock musician,
songwriter, composer and musical producer.
Sakharof is Rami Fortis’ companion in the duo Fortisakharof, and is known
for his tendency to combine in his pieces effects of electronic music and
eastern influences, and also for his frequent cooperation with Israeli
musicians. In the early nineties he received the media nickname “The prince
of Israeli rock”.

Sakharof was born in Izmir, Turkey, and made Aliyah to Israel along with his
parents when he was three years old. He began his musical career when he
was still young, and later on he met his friend Rami Fortis, who performed in
clubs with different ensembles. Over the course of his rich and interesting
career Sakharof recorded dozens of songs, for TV programs and movies as
well. One of his beautiful albums is “Touches”, which was released in 1998
and quickly reached gold album status. Following the album, Sakharof set out
on a successful concerts tour. One of the beautiful songs in the album is
Natan Alterman’s song “The Melody Still Returns”.
