                           Rona Kenan

Rona (Aharona) Kenan (born July 26th 1979) is an Israeli singer, musician
performer and composer. Kenan was born in Jaffa, daughter of the writer and
journalist Amos Kenan and cinema researcher and writer Nurit Gertz. She
was raised and lives in Tel Aviv.
Her first show in front of a big audience was held at 1997. In 2003 Kenan
returned to perform, towards her first official solo album, “To Breathe
Counting Backwards”. Kenan has released three albums so far. In 2009
Kenan released her third album, “Songs for Yoel”. The album tells the life
story of a fictitious character named Yoel. Yoel’s character is loosely based
on her father, Amos Kenan, who died later that year. Following the album
Kenan was chosen to be “Singer of the Year” in the yearly Hebrew hit parade
of the radio station ‘Galgalaz’ for 2009-2010.
At present Kenan performs, plays and sings on Gidi Gov’s show, and
additionally hosts the radio show “Night Birds Singing” with the poet Dori
Manor on ‘Galey Tzahal’.
