                 The House on Michal Twenty

(Those) who look at these obituaries hanging at the entrance to the
building on twenty Michal street in Tel Aviv, may think that this is another
unfortunate case of an untimely death. But if you step into the building,
(you) discover a story that would be good enough for a Hollywood
screenplay. The truth is that this is an entirely true story of a childless man,
Uri Giladi may he rest in peace, who left his tenants no less than seven
apartments, the worth of each is estimated at three and a half million NIS
at least. Who was Uri Giladi and what brought him to leave these
apartments in his will specifically to his tenants? “It should be said in
favor of these girls that they really nursed this childless man at the end of
his life. They promised him to take care of the cats and this is the real
reason for which they got the apartment.” Michal street is considered to be
one of the most sought-after streets in Tal Aviv, a one-way street that
looks like a Dutch walking street, located minutes by foot from Habima
Square and Dizengoff Center. Quite a few desperate renters, yielding
under the rent burden, fantasize about a dream like this. And no wonder
that even in this story there are those who walk around with an especially
painful feeling of missing out, “I’m still hoping that on the back page of
the will something else is hiding.”
