Act Out 23

At the Recruiting Office – part 2

Interviewer: Ok… And why do you want to enlist in the IDF?

Daniel: I thought of enlisting in the IDF for many years. In the

Lebanon War, I thought about the soldiers. I thought that I

want to be in Lebanon and help them. I thought that I love

this country and want to protect it.

Interviewer: So I understand that you want to be a combat soldier?

Daniel: Yes. Only combat.

Interviewer: I see you’re 22 years old. It’s not easy to enlist at 22. All

Daniel: the soldiers are 18 years old. All your commanders are 19
years old. You studied in college and they didn’t.
I know. That doesn’t bother me. I know I’m doing the

right thing, and I can overcome all the difficult things on

                  the way.
Interviewer: I see you’re highly motivated. Well, thank you very

Daniel: much, Daniel. You can go.
That’s it? I haven’t said anything yet. I can still speak for

a long time about Israel and about the IDF.

Interviewer: Yes, but I want to finish my work today and go home.

Good luck, Daniel, both in Israel and in the IDF.
