Rescuing the Dead Sea

Fifteen people got into Mineral Beach at the Dead Sea in the early morning. They came to be
photographed in the nude in a project by photographer Spencer Tunick. In two thousand one the
Israeli Ministry of Tourism invited Tunick to Israel for a photography project that would help
rescue the Dead Sea. A thousand people were photographed naked for Tunick’s project then. Now
Tunick returns to photograph at the same beach, which has been closed during this time because of
sinkholes. Spencer Tunick isn’t just a photographer, but a social activist as well. Two months ago
he photographed a large nude project in the United States, as protest of racist things Donald Trump
had said. Spencer came to Israel in order to help rescue the Dead Sea, and also in honor of his
exhibition (they’re) opening in a gallery in Tel Aviv.
