Jordan on Netflix
This show brought the excitement back to a generation that grew up on
the one and only, Michael Jordan. But this isn’t a show about basketball,
rather about ego, management and control in one of the most iconic sports
teams ever. These original materials from Chicago’s last championship
have been lying on a shelf for more than twenty years, not seeing the light
of day. Jordan had in advance a veto right, not to approve broadcasting
the show, and so he did. According to reports, he was worried that it will
show him in a negative way, as an egotistic (man) who made his
teammates’ lives hard, until four years ago he was convinced and the work
began. In Israel too The Last Dance became the most popular show on
Netflix, which shows it really isn’t just good for basketball enthusiasts.
People who don’t really remember that team are learning about the
characters at play. In the age of Coronavirus, with no basketball games in
sight, the show is probably the most worthwhile substitute at the moment
for WhatsApp talks among sports fans as well as TV studios. Jordan
waited twenty-two years, and now in Corona times, as major basketball
players are sitting at home, Jordan comes out as the winner once again.
