Please note that in Hebrew we often use a form which actually has a double
affirmation. For example, the sentence "Danni's friends" can be expressed in
Hebrew as:
Option 1: ַהח ֵברים ֶשל דני.0
Option 2: ח ֵבריו ֶשל דני.0
In the second option the word ֲח ֵב ָריוalready has the meaning "his friends", so
literally the sentence means "His, Danni's friends" affirming Danni's association
with friends twice.
Exercise: Translate the following questions (conjugating the nouns) and answer
them in Hebrew.
1. Do Miriam's friends visit her?
2. Does the teacher answer our questions?
3. Where do Daniel's sons go on Saturday?
4. Where do your parents visit when they come to Israel?
5. Where do your brothers live?
6. Who takes Rafi's books every morning?
