                                   Street Poet

Nitzan Mintz is a poet who publishes her poems in the streets. She
creates her works from words and leftovers: old trees, bags,
notebooks, paper and plastic. She collects the materials from the street
to bring to the studio, and returns them to the street in a new way.
According to her, she believes the materials she collects can change
when she gives them new space and meaning.
Mintz's songs connect the personal to the political. She writes out of
the need to put words to her feelings, and chooses to place them in
certain areas in the city in order to recharge them with social and
political meaning. Mintz's words are harsh and sometimes even
violent. They leave the reader with a strong impression that makes the
body shiver.
Mintz's partner is the street artist Dede. They met while working on
the street, and today they also work together, composing her texts with
his painting. In recent years Mintz has been presenting her songs in
galleries in Israel and around the world.
