The Synagogue
Every Shabbat, the Jewish prisoners pray in the synagogue.
All of the Jewish prisoners come to the synagogue, also Jews that
never pray.
In the synagogue they are able to speak, to hear what is happening in
Israel, and the most important: to meet Rabbi Aryeh Levin.
Rabbi Aryeh Levin is a righteous man. Every Shabbat he visits the
prisoners in the prison, speaks with them and prays with them. The
prisoners feel better when they speak with Rabbi Aryeh.
One Shabbat Rabbi Aryeh sees in the prison a very sad prisoner.
Rabbi Aryeh says: "Why are you sad?" and the prisoner says: "I have
no family. All of my family dies in the Holocaust. Every visiting day
all the families visit, and my family does not".
The next visiting day, a young man visits the prisoner. He says to
him: "I am the son of Rabbi Aryeh Levin. (My) Father says that you
have no family in Israel. Now we are your family."
