The Opposition’s Filibuster

We didn’t hear the opposition in Israel for a long time, but this week it woke up in order to try and
stop a bill by the coalition. This bill says that the police can’t recommend to indict a prime minister
or public official as long as he’s in office. The opposition’s filibuster lasted for more than fifty
hours. The Knesset Members talked one after the other, some gave tips for better living and some
talked about things that interest them. By the end of the day the opposition was a little less happy
when the bill passed with a majority of fifty nine Knesset Members.
