Moving from Present Tense to Past Tense
In Pa’al 3, the easiest way to get to the past tense “kernel” is by
using present tense form. For example:
הֶנוֹק ← תוֹנ ְקִל
We then change the sound pattern to match the name of the
Binyan – Pa’al:
...A...A...
As an example let’s use the verb:
to buy - תוֹנ ְקִל
ה נק ָ ← הֶנוֹק ← תוֹנק ִל ְ
