                                             Hurricane Harvey

(It’s been) fifty years since Texas has known such a formidable hurricane.

The city of Houston, fourth biggest (city) in the United States, is partially

paralyzed; more than a thousand people were evacuated (away) from the
floods. The instruction to residents now – if your house was flooded, climb

to the roofs so we can rescue you. Yesterday at one AM Texas time

Hurricane Harvey hit the state’s southern shore. The beach town of
Rockport, which took a direct hit, has been completely destroyed. Many of

its residents evacuated in time, others who chose to stay were asked to

write their first name and identification number on their arm in case of
injury. Fierce winds with a force of two hundred kilometers an hour and

more hit the neighboring city of Corpus Christi as well, three hundred

thousand residents are left with no electricity. The President of the United
States Donald Trump is keeping track of Texas from the presidential resort

in Camp David. This is the biggest natural disaster of his term. Hurricane

Harvey reminds many of Hurricane Katrina, which hit New Orleans
twelve years ago. Two thousand people were killed then, this time they

were better prepared. Texas is more organized than Louisiana, and the
storm is probably less deadly as well.
