The Nationality Bill

A few days ago Knesset Members passed, after a very long deliberation, the Nationality Bill, which
says that the state of Israel is the state of the Jewish people. For the coalition, this is a big
achievement, but for the opposition it really isn’t. After (they) voted on the bill members of the
opposition were angry, yelled and left the hall. They said that the bill isn’t democratic and doesn’t
accept the Druze, the Bedouins and Israeli Arabs who live in Israel. When Netanyahu gave a speech
after the bill passed he said that finally after a hundred and twenty two years, Israeli law says that
Israel is the national state of the Jewish people.
