Working on Vacation Too

While their friends play on the PlayStation or smartphone, there are also kids who volunteer on the
summer vacation: brothers Ido and Amit from Akko are just ten and twelve years old, and already
they’re instructing groups of kids their age. The children at the after-school care where they
volunteer don’t have enough money to celebrate a birthday like everyone, so Ido and Amit do it for
them, with games, balloons and cake. Natan from Jerusalem (has been) running his project already
since the age of thirteen – the Always project, where (they) fix old computers and give them to
families who don’t have a computer. Thirteen year old Yarden doesn’t spend a lot of time with the
smartphone on vacation either, every week he volunteers at a nursing home in Kfar Saba. Not only
are these kids doing something important, they also say that it’s great fun.
