Ahuzat-Bait
Arieh Akiva Weiss has an idea: a first modern Hebrew city in Israel.
Many people like Weiss's idea and start working and building the first
neighborhood. The neighborhood is called 'Ahuzat Bait'. Arieh Akiva
Weiss loves Ahuzat Bait so much, that his daughter is called Ahuzbait
– Tel Aviv's first baby (girl).
The biggest streets in the neighborhood are called Rothschild St. and
Herzl St.: Herzl St. is an important street. The first Hebrew school in
Israel is in there – the Gymnasia Herzliya. It is a big and pretty school,
with a lot of students, and everybody speaks Hebrew.
On Rothschild St. there are trees, a bench and a lemonade kiosk. One
can buy and drink lemonade, stroll along the street or sit and talk
about love. On Rothschild there is also a big water tower that can give
all the people in the neighborhood water. In the tower there is a very
big room, where the mayor and important people sit and talk, and that
is Tel Aviv's first city hall.
