Studying at the Safari
Most of us know this road as the entrance to the Ramat Gan Safari, for
them this is the entrance to school. A first sneak peek into the school that
resides at the heart of the park. Children with complicated learning
disabilities go here, and switch between familiar classrooms and the wild
nature outside. Studying here occurs in very small classes, in a different,
more peaceful atmosphere. The students who come here from all over
Israel will graduate high-school, but will also learn a lot about themselves
along the way. “All studies show that if children learn in nature, especially
children with learning difficulties, it changes the atmosphere a lot, (their)
success, their feeling, and so this is a dream that many have dreamt and we
were able to realize.” More and more educators in Israel are understanding
the great meaning of studying in the environment where we live. At the
Safari, in the field, in the grove next to the school, the traditional
classroom is changing.
