No Work in Yeruham
The workers at the Negev Ceramics factory in Yeruham don’t know what to do. The Labor Court
decided today to accept the management’s request and close down the factory. A hundred and forty
workers will go home now, in a city where there’s already many people who don’t have a job. The
workers tried to change the court’s decision, but didn’t succeed. They say that the management,
which only bought the factory six months ago, already knew then that it would close the factory
down, because it costs it too much money and it prefers to import the ceramics from a cheaper
place. The management says this isn’t true and blame the government, but everyone knows that
(those) who pay the highest price at the end of the day are the workers.
