Different Ethnic Backgrounds in Nachlaot
In Israel there are Jews from all over the world - Europe, Africa, Asia and
America. Each ethnic group has a different language, different food,
different prayers and customs.
The Nachlaot neighborhood is a ‘small Israel’. Jews from all over the world
come here too and build streets, houses and neighborhoods.
There are many young people in Nachlaot today, but even today one can
see the neighborhood’s elderly maintaining their traditions.
On the trip today we’ll meet the Yemenite, Kurdish, Syrian and Ashkenazi
sects.
