Blue & White Food
A rare thing happened this weekend at a restaurant in London. Five top
Israeli chefs gathered to cook together and introduce food experts from
around the world to Israeli cuisine. The initiator is Dudi Khalifa, who’s
known in the culinary world as The Hungry Tourist. He turned to the
highly regarded organization OAD, which among other things hosts events
of gourmet meals for selected members, and offered to integrate blue &
white food for the first time. Around the tables are a few owners of the
biggest culinary blogs in the world; on the menu tonight is an eight course
meal. Each of the distinguished guests paid three hundred pounds to come,
and each of the five chefs will make a personal dish in addition to the
dishes they’ll make together. And with a full tummy, the results become
apparent. So even though they’ve seen nights with famous chefs from Italy
and Japan, Israeli food managed to make a positive impression on the
diners here. A few of them already said they’ll come to Israel soon to keep
tasting, because not only the army marches on its stomach, recently, this is
also the way to reach much broader audiences.
