On Parents’ WhatsApp
Hello first grade, welcome students, welcome back parents WhatsApp
groups. In recent years the PTA is held often some would say too (often),
and it happens on our personal cell phone. In today’s reality parents are
connected, and that’s an understatement. All this is meant to be a tool in
parents’ hands to get updated, (and) also for the educators, kindergarten
employees and teachers - to update parents on events and important tasks.
But something went wrong on route and the useful tool became for many
parents, as well as teachers, a nuisance. Revital, a mother of four who has
already taken part in a number of groups like these, advises on how to
survive the WhatsApp groups, “When there’s a field trip for instance, the
only thing we all care about is when you’re on the way back. A hint to
Yogevi’s mother - don’t ask in front of everyone how Yogevi survived the
trip with his severe vomiting problems.” So a moment before going back
to school and the intense activity on WhatsApp groups, this is the time to
set boundaries for the kids - and parents.
