Guide to the National Public Museum of Islamic Calligraphy of Tlemcen
The minaret of Sidi Belahcen Mosque is
quadrangular. It is decorated on all four sides
with rectangular panels some of which are
filled with curved diamonds and others with
lobed arches covered with multi-coloured
zellij (tile) decorations. It is topped by a small
dome, from the pole of which extends a rod
with two copper apples and a crescent moon.
