The Birth of
the Museum
As part of “Tlemcen Capital of
Islamic Culture” in 2011, the site
underwent major restoration
operations to become the
«National Public Museum of
Islamic Calligraphy» under
Executive Decree No. 12-139
dated 03 Jumada II, 1433, on
April 25 ,2012 .
It was inaugurated by the
Algerian President on 13
Jumada I, 1432, on April 17
2011.
