Ḥamidah - ﻩﺪﲪ ﻦﳌ ﷲا ﻊﲰ’ in the final rakafiāt, he made the dufiā√
for disaster upon them, a group consisting of people from the tribes
of the Banī Sulaim, Rifil, Dhakwān and fiUṣaiyah. Whereby the
357
people behind him pronounced Āmīn.
There are many aḥādīth concerning qunūtNāzīlah being
carried out during the times of the five obligatory salawāt after the
rukūfi of the final rakafiāt.
Imām an-Nawawī presented a chapter within Sharḥ Muslim
from Kitābul Masājid, chapter 54: Istiḥbābul Qunūt fī Jamīfiiṣ-Ṣalāt
√idhā Nazalat bi’l Muslimīn Nāzilat “The chapter pronounces qunūt
to be sunnah at every time of ṣalāt (the five obligatory times)
358
whenever a disaster befalls the Muslims”.
Concerning the raising of the hands, there is proof in the form
of ṣaḥīḥ aḥādīth, both concerning qunūt Nāzīlah and qunūt Witr.
In regard to wiping the face after qunūt or dufiā√, there is not
one single ṣaḥīḥ narration concerning this. Thus, this action is
359
bidfiah.
