When someone says they are from Chicago please understand that can be anywhere from NW Indiana
to Joliet to just south of the Wisconsin border. All that area encompasses Chicagoland. It is much easier
to say you are from Chicago than to explain the whereabouts of Waukegan, Matteson, or Merrillville.
Chicago is after all the city of big shoulders. It must be to support the entire region. Chicago is a great
city in itself -- with its nightlife, entertainment, sports, the lakefront, and the absolute best pizza in the
universe. That’s it…the pizza argument is over! I grew up in Merrillville, IN and have traversed the
country since young adulthood and have never found a match.
