There’s an old, unwritten culture rule that the
public generally prefers entertainers to “stay
in their own lane,” so to speak. If you’re a
football player, you can’t play baseball, and if
you’re a singer, you can’t also be an actor,
and if you’re an actor, you can’t also be a
singer. Well, that rule has not stopped a lot of
actors and singers from trying, such as some
of my favorites like Russell Crowe, Keanu
Reeves, Johnny Depp, Bruce Willis, Jeff
Bridges, Hugh Laurie, David Duchovny, and
Kevin Bacon, to name a few.
Kevin Costner, now singer and songwriter,
started performing music with his high school
marching band way before his acting career
was a thought. His expanding acting career
put a pause to his musical dreams until he
formed his band in mid-2000. His wife, Cindy
Silva, and his friend, John Coinman, were his
motivation and encouragers. Kevin Costner’s
career spans over 40 years and continues to
this day. Kevin Costner has collected 2
Golden Globe Awards, 2 Academy Awards,
2 Screen Actor Guild Awards, and an Emmy
Award. He has starred in over 60 movies and
television miniseries and is currently starring
in Paramount’s drama series, “Yellowstone.”
