Truth be told, I’m not familiar with the
“Yellowstone” TV show or any of his music.
But from the look of his audience, all
dressed from characters of the show and his
tour titled, “Tales From Yellowstone Tour,”
I’m assuming that there is a large fan base
for Kevin. I’m still a “Draft Day” and
“McFarland USA” fan, but I didn’t come
dressed in football garb or as a cross
country runner.
The concert started with a long montage of
Kevin Costner’s many film and TV
characters displayed on a huge back screen
behind the drums. This was kind of exciting
for me. I kept saying to myself, “Oh yeah, I
remember that movie!” and “Oh, yeah,” and
“Oh man, that’s an oldie.” At the end of the
cinematic trip down memory lane, Kevin
Costner’s band took the stage and started
to perform “Red River.” Then Mr. Costner
followed and came on stage with a huge
smile and waved to his audience. Kevin
then thanked the women in the audience for
bringing their husbands and boyfriends
along to the show, as he alluded that the
men would not have come to the show if not
for them -- although, most of his audience
members were of the female persuasion.
