I’ve read in recent interviews that she loves these kind
of event shows and that “there’s nothing more thrilling
than hearing a live orchestra and live vocals. There’s
just something magical!” Some of the songs on her
set list included holiday songs like “Jingle Bell Rock,”
“I’ll Be Home For Christmas,” and at one point, she
had the audience singing “Silent Night” with her. Her
performing opera was awesome as I never heard her
sing that genre. Speaking of opera, who really
impressed me was her special guest, Daniel Emmet.
Now that man has a voice of gold! He performed a
few such as ‘Nuestro Amor,” and “Hallelujah.” Daniel
also sang duets with Marie and some trios with David
Osmond. David talked a little about his father Alan,
older brother of Marie, having Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
and that during David’s 20s, he also had MS and was
wheelchair bound. After a year of fighting, he started
feeling better and soon after, focused on his music
career.
Overall, the concert had an Andy Williams feel to it
with music and some comedy. Marie was very
personable as she went out to the audience and
mingled with them and at times singing alongside
everyone. Marie Osmond has always been a favorite
of mine and I feel that we can all look forward to her
producing wonderful new music for years to come.
