The band's best melodies depend on close vocal harmonies. It's no big surprise that
over the course of their career, Old Dominion has been notably named ACM “New
Group of the Year,” ACCA “Breakthrough Group of the Year,” AIMP “Songwriter Artist
of the Year” and Music Row “Breakthrough Artist of the Year.” In 2017, front man
Matthew Ramsey was ASCAP’s “Artist of the Year.” The band has also received
nominations for CMT Awards, American Music Awards, Billboard Awards, and iHeart
Radio Awards.
Old Dominion
Matthew appeared to be vibing off the group's energy and got more grounded as the
show went on. In any case, toward the end, he said that he truly didn't have any desire
to walk off stage, knowing that the group would do an encore, and then walk back, so
the band just remained where it was and played three encore tunes, "New York
Around evening time" and "Walk on Whiskey" before closing with "I Was On a Boat
That Day." But my favorite Old Dominion song is “I Should Have Married You.”
I’m so glad I decided to see these fellows. I now follow them on FB and Instagram.
