TB: We are putting a show together and Karen Waldrup is one
of the headliners. Who would you also have on that bill and
why?

KW: If I could have my pick to perform with any one of my musical
inspirations, I would choose Patsy Cline. She was such a unique
trailblazer in country music and everyone who enjoys music should
have the upmost respect for her career. I have learned a lot from
her, and it would have been the honor of a lifetime to sing with a
legend like Patsy Cline.

TB: What is your ‘bucket list’ venue at which to perform?

KW: My ‘bucket list’ venue to perform at would have to be the Grand
Ole Opry in Tennessee. The Grand Ole Opry has been the stage of
an endless list of iconic musicians. The opportunity to play there
would be such a rewarding venue to cross off my list of goals.

TB: I read an article on CMT.com where you said the ‘The most
difficult subjects to write about are the ones you have never
lived.’ How does this impact you as you write for another artist
and when you are writing your own music?

KW: Putting someone else’s story into a song is very difficult
because there is a lot of importance on purposefully and accurately
portraying their point of view. It takes time and care to do, but it
brings about songs that I would not have previously written. Aside
from writing for other artists, I write my own music whenever I have
something important on my mind that I feel should be shared with
my audience.
Being a songwriter means having an ear for stories that deserve to
be told and whether that comes from my own life or someone else’s,
both are equally a great experience.

TB: What can your fans look forward to from you during the
rest of 2023?

KW: In 2023, the fans have plenty to look forward to! I have new
music coming out very soon, as well as upcoming shows across the
country! I cannot wait to get back on the road and give the fans
everything and more for the rest of 2023!
