TB: I read the album is inspired by the ‘death of live music’ caused by the pandemic. Talk about
this as it relates to the album.
KJ: When live music got shut down from the pandemic, I (Preston) was able to finish a compilation I
was working on. The album itself plays like a story if you listen through…like the end of a relationship
but, in reality, the songs are about the music itself. Specifically, where my head was during this time. I
was dealing with a lot of burnout and doubt about wanting to continue to play.
TB: The album has received incredibly positive reviews. As you look back at the writing,
recording, and gearing up the promotion machine of this album, what are your thoughts now
that it has been released?
KJ: I am learning more every day and things are never what they seem. I have learned that the
songwriting and recording process, as mundane as it seemed, was so easy compared to the promoting.
If you want to get heard, you have to be constantly working and promoting on multiple platforms, all
day, every day. However, we all know how good this album is, and it needs to be heard, so we are
willing to do whatever it takes to get the music out there.
