TB: Any one track from the album that really stands out for you?

KJ: I personally love them all, but I might be a little biased. Haha! The consensus has been all over
the place too, and to me, that’s a good thing, because it means multiple songs are standing out, not
just one or two. When picking singles, no one could agree on a few songs. It was all over the place.
But, if I had to choose one today, it would be ‘Never Gonna Let You Go,’ as I am a sucker for a good
rock ballad. And that song has a special kind of meaning to me. But if you ask me tomorrow, I might
         give a different answer.

TB: The album includes a cover of the Rolling Stones’ classic ‘Jumpin’ Jack Flash,’ a version
that I just love. Talk about adding Kickstand Jenny’s touch to the song and deciding to
         include it on the album.

KJ: We needed a song for the second part of the compilation. In this case, we needed a ‘rise from
the phoenix’ song after ‘Death Trap.’ I was working on a couple originals for it, but they just weren’t
ready and complete, so we decided to go with ‘Jumpin’ Jack.’ We knew that we had to do it a little
differently to make it fit the mood of the album and to make it stand out from the original version.

TB: Is there a risk covering and including a hit song from an iconic band like The Stones on
         an album?

         KJ: Yes and no. The way I look at it is, if you cover a hit song, then you are halfway to a hit, because;
it is already familiar to the masses and obviously has the ‘formula’ for a hit. However, you are taking
a chance when you cover any iconic song, so it better be really good (as good, or better than the
original), or different enough to make it interesting. I think we accomplished that with the song.

TB: What’s up next for Kickstand Jenny? Any tours? Working on new material?

KJ: Both, actually. We are working on getting some tours set up for the fall and most of next year.
And we are planning on hitting Nashville to record a few songs for the next album. The whole process
from the last album took a long time, so we want to be better prepared for the next release and try
to record a few songs every three months, in order to have enough material for another album in a
year. We are all so excited for the future and can’t wait to get out on the road to bring these great
songs to the masses. Stay tuned, as we are just getting started!

Do your ears a favor and add “Between the Lies” to your playlist. Put on some headphones and just
enjoy 44-plus minutes of rock and roll. I want to thank Preston for taking the time to do this interview.
Be sure to follow the band on social media and check out their videos on YouTube.
