On Tuesday, July 30th, I had the day off from work, which filled me with excitement and a touch of
nervousness, as I recalled my first photography experience at this venue last year, where I
encountered two rather unfriendly house photographers. As the day unfolded, I began by waking
up early to complete my workout. I even challenged my wife to join me on the treadmill, all while
listening to a Switchfoot playlist.
Later, I departed my apartment around 4:00 p.m., heading to the venue by train. Blue October was
scheduled to open at 4:30 p.m., but due to uncertainty about my access to photograph their set, I
decided to skip it. Unfortunately, I found myself caught in train delays, a common occurrence in
New York. To avoid being late for Matt Nathanson's performance, I opted for an Uber ride, arriving
at the venue at 5:45 p.m. I hurriedly collected my photo pass and concert ticket and rushed to the
rooftop. There I encountered a friendly Filipino security guard, Kuya Mario, who informed me that
the concert would actually begin at 7:00 p.m. All my frantic rushing and the Uber fare turned out to
be unnecessary!
