Between the Buried and Me formed in Raleigh, North
Carolina in 2000. The band name came from a group
of lyrics in the song “Ghost Train” by Counting Crows.
Between the Buried and Me consists of Tommy Giles
Rogers Jr. (lead vocals, keyboard), Paul Waggoner (lead
guitar, backing vocals), Dustie Waring (rhythm guitar,
lead guitar), Dan Briggs (bass, keyboard), and Blake
Richardson (drums).
Their musical style has been described by critics to be
a blend of progressive metal, technical death metal,
progressive metalcore, avant-garde metal, and
metalcore. The band was on their Automata II Tour in
the United States when they played Wally’s in
Hampton Beach, NH.
