Milwaukee’s Summerfest 2018 was in full swing and ION Indie Magazine contributing
photojournalist Eddy Schneider III was once again on the ground and behind the lens as
the “eyes” of ION. Summerfest 2018 did not disappoint, delivering A-list music to entertain
the festival-goers that crowded the stages at this much sought-after event for both music-
lovers and media alike. Year after year, Summerfest continues to bring an exceptional
lineup of some of the most recognizable names in music…and Summerfest 2018 boasted a
wide scope of talent. ION Indie Magazine presents a pictorial of the talent that graced the
stages of Summerfest -- such as Rock Hall of Fame Inductees Cheap Trick, blues legend
Buddy Guy, multi-award-winning hip hop artist J. Cole, prog rock pioneers Jethro Tull,
Billboard-charting rapper Trippie Redd, “Bad to the Bone” boogie rocker George
Thorogood, nu metal triple-Platinum band P.O.D…and so much more! Straight from Eddy’s
vantage point in the pit, we share with the readers of ION Indie Magazine this “Spotlight on
          Summerfest.”

Let’s kick things off in style with none other than CHEAP TRICK – whose name is synonymous
with true rock royalty. With over 20 million in record sales, Gold and Platinum certifications,
and countless appearances, these 2016 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductees and
Rockford, IL natives have been entertaining audiences since the ‘70s with their timeless
hard-driving rockful sounds and unique blend of catchy and playful, punky, pop vibes.
2017’s “We’re All Alright!” was yet another undisputed triumph for the band as the album's
first single, "Long Time Coming," enjoyed an unprecedented run of 18 weeks at #1 on the
Mediabase Classic Rock chart. With timeless classics such as “I Want You to Want Me” and
“Surrender,” they are considered a musical institution and have left their mark in music
history. ION Indie Magazine caught up with them at Summerfest 2018. Learn more about
