Before entering Indonesia, Japan
propagandized itself as the
liberator of the backward Greater
East Asia (ATR) countries and
promised to free Indonesia from
Western colonialism, in exchange
for popular support in the form of
natural resources and manpower.
When pressed by the Allies, Japan

Seinendan, Fujinkai, and Romusha.
The Three A's Movement was
replaced by PUTERA, which was
more favorable to Indonesia, so it
