A rational numbers is any numbers that can be written in the form where a

and b are integers and b≠ 0

For examples : -2 , 0 , 9 , 0.3 ,5 1 can be written in the form as : −2 , 0 , 9 , 3 11
                                             2 1 1 1 10 2

Absolute value :

The absolute value of a rational numbers is its distance from zero . since distance is
positive ,or zero .
Then the absolute value of either a positive or a negative rational numbers is
positive .

  |5| = 5 and |−5| = 5

Notes : |5| = |−5| because both are 5 units from zero .
