Closure
The closure phase begins the evaluation of realised benefits. It focuses on further collection of data to determine whether and to what extent the intended business outcomes have been achieved.
Benefits realisation
The execution phase focuses on the process of delivering the project outputs. It is triggered by the preparation and approval of a detailed implementation plan.
The benefits realisation phase extends beyond the formal closure of the project, when there is a need to collect further data on project impact.
