     Project Phase 4:
Closure
Purpose
This phase is the formal closure of a project’s delivery component. At this point, all benefits may not have been fully realised, as some measurable effects can be time delayed, but the change has now been implemented and business as usual resumes.
A lessons learned review should be carried out and the executive project summary and history file completed.
Process
1. A final business readiness review prior to implementation must be carried out.
2. Hyper care, if relevant, is provided.
3. The project solution is “handed-over” to the business
owner.
4. The project team conducts a lessons learned meeting.
5. The ePMO logs lessons learned in a depository.
6. The project team completes the executive project summary and history file.
7. On completion of the stage gate deliverables, the steering committee and ePMO decide whether the project can go to the ePRB for review.
8. The ePMO requests time within the ePRB meeting for a project presentation.
9. The project sponsor and VP GBC present the final presentation to the ePRB.
10. The ePRB considers lessons learned and decide whether the project can be closed.
11. Theprojectfinancesarereviewedand, ifappropriate, the project cost code is closed.
